How to turn one blog into a month of social media

The best way to make sure you have the information you need to convert into easy content is to make sure that your blogs are useful in the first place.

Some people think they can just ramble for a little bit, stick it up on their website and then hope for it to miraculously change their lives.

Blogs are a little like an exercise bike, though. You can spend a small fortune on a top-of-the-line bike, but if it is sitting under the laundry pile, hidden away in the corner, you won’t magically start getting fitter.

The purpose of a blog is to position yourself as an expert, answer any questions your readers may have and for some, it is used to boost your SEO.

This means that each article needs to be useful and engaging.

Structuring your articles

Chunk it down. Search engines prefer blog articles that have headings, subheadings and bullet points when possible. This is because humans prefer to read this way. With the amount of information that is available online today, most people prefer to skim-read to make sure they are getting what they are looking for from an article.

Most articles have between 3 and 6 main sections. These can be further broken down, but it isn’t always necessary.

An easy template for when you get stuck

Having regular features that are set in your mind helps to create a structure to your planning and helps to keep the algorithm happy.

An easy pattern to follow each week is:

  1. An information piece
  2. Social proof
  3. An offer

If you rely on your blog as your information piece, this will give you over a month of information to share when you split it into chunks or subheadings.

Having this very basic outline will allow you to plan an entire month and will allow you the freedom to add your own spice whenever it feels right.

Tools that help make it easy

  • Canva

Using templates that are established and ready to use will save you time and create a visual that your audience can instantly recognise.

  • Chat GPT

If you are really stuck for inspiration, you can feed your blog into Chat or your AI of choice and ask it for some help.

  • Read Aloud

I always recommend reading any copy/content aloud so that you can catch any mistakes or problems.

Have fun with it

Once you have the information ready to go in your blog article and social media calendar, it’s all about having fun with it and letting your personality shine through.

Allow that structure to take the pressure off and use videos, graphics and other stuff to let your personality out when it feels right!
